I often wonder if I should create a new β€œWelcome” page from time to time. Any thoughts?

I don't think you have to create a new one but you should definitely update your current one regularly if your angle or content or offerings have shifted.

Thank you for the reminder to clean both my digital house and my physical house.

Hahaha sorry about your physical house! I didn't mean to create work for you there 😬

No problem. I try to keep with tradition of house spring cleaning. I am just waiting for the β€œSpring Burn” season here to be over with so I can open my windows.

I think I have a pretty navigable Homepage, but need to update the email and about page.

Yah I find we often forget about making updates. But our publications change over time and updates are wise.

Great idea to look at your Substack like a visitor. It’s quite enlightening.

Yah often we don't think of it that way because we see our own every day!

How do you feel about purging subscribers who have never opened an email in a year or more? I feel like saying I have 600 subscibers when almost 200 of them haven't opened an email since 2024/2025 is a little misleading.

I'm on the fence about that because some of your subscribers could have emails turned off and only read your posts in the app. And I'm not sure if those app readers count toward those engaged star ratings. No definitive answer on that one.

Thanks Kristi. As I regularly send an email weekly, I feel it's a somewhat good barometer of engagement. According to my stats, the bulk of traffic comes through emails.

You're probably safe to do it then.
