How To Easily Promote Your Substack Without Social Media
And without standing on the street corner yelling through an orange cardboard tube like the girl in this picture ⬇⬇
If you work from home all day long and then spend your evenings doing YouTube yoga and walking the dog (that’s me) this week’s tip may not be your magic wand.
However, it’ll work like a charm for extroverts who have a life outside the internet (not me 😂).
Whether you’re an active parent, work in an office or a restaurant, or do yoga and gym stuff outside of your living room, this WILL work for you!
How do I know?
Because I did it for ten years with my travel blog.
I did it on airplanes, inside airports, at bars and restaurants, and even on boats in the middle of the sea. I did it at home and abroad all the time.
So, what’s the secret? Only one of the oldest marketing techniques in the world, but with a modern twist.
You make a business card, but not just any business card. You include a QR code on it because let’s face it…Substack URLs kind of suck. They’re not very pretty or memorable unless you’ve spent the money to purchase a custom one.
But if you haven’t? Print yourself a stack of business cards that people can quickly scan with their phones and let them jump straight to your SUBSCRIBE page.
Two reasons why having a QR card for your Substack is practical:
You can quickly hand it out if you’re in a hurry.
If you’re not in a hurry people can scan it on the spot and you don’t even have to give it out (money saver!)
Here are a couple of examples of QR cards I whipped up for this post, one for each of my Substacks.
NOTE: These are not real codes, they’re just samples.
These are designed exactly like normal business cards so you can include whatever text you want on the reverse side.
BONUS:
If you don’t feel like doing the work I can whip up a custom QR card for you. It’s one more awesome service I provide as your Substack Virtual Assistant. 😊😊
You’re welcome!
Unstack Substack deliveries are meant to be short and sweet, and not clutter up your inbox or your day. 😊
Doing it! 99.9% of the folks I have great conversations with out in the wild aren’t on SS, but a solid percentage of them would be if given a direct line. 🙌🏻🆒💫
Great ideas Kristi! It’s exactly what I’ve done. I have my QR codes set up on my phone so people can use their phone and get taken right to my sign up page. 🦋🎯
