You don’t need to be famous on Substack to have a note go wildly viral!
I cannot stress this enough!
You DO NOT have to be a bigwig on Substack to have one (or many) of your notes fly off the shelf.
You DO NOT need thousands of subscribers or followers to go viral on Notes.
You also DO NOT need to pay for Notes coaching or masterclasses to go viral.
I sent out a survey to 5,600+ subscribers a few weeks ago, asking a few simple questions. Some of the questions were essentially the same, but phrased differently.

I can’t even begin to tell you how many times NOTES came up in the responses. How to write them and how to use them for Substack growth is a massive concern for most of you.
It genuinely pains me to see thousands of writers obsessing over how to go viral with Notes. The reason it pains me so much is that we all came to Substack to WRITE. Period. And then the onslaught of social media disguised in Substack clothing hit us, and here we are.
If chasing vanity metrics and virality is the biggest goal, we could have just stuck with toughing it out on traditional social media.
Keep in mind that going viral on Substack Notes still only keeps you within the Substack ecosystem. It does not necessarily translate into paid subscribers or external eyeballs on your work.
