This Is How To Shine A Well-deserved Spotlight On The Book You're Trying To Sell
AUTHORS! Make this the year your book SHINES!
This is a repost from nearly a year ago and upon the advice of forever-wise , who works with writers and authors every day, I’m sharing it with you again.
My biggest job here at Unstack Substack is to throw as many creative ideas your way as I can come up with.
Your job is to grab the ideas you love and run off into the sunset with them. However, I’m aware that many of you don’t feel like running (does anyone?) and that’s why I’m here.
I do the work for those who would rather be repotting their plants or making beautiful things with flowers.
and , I’m looking at you 😉.Book Authors: We’re saluting you this week!
Because, when was the last time someone saluted you just because you’re an author?
Unless you have a killer deal with Penguin Random House, the marketing and selling of your book rests solely on your shoulders. Lord knows those books aren’t selling themselves, are they?
So, why not up your game a notch or two and try selling readers a feeling rather than a flat rectangle?
I’m sure you hired someone to design your book cover, which is awesome. I bet they did a fabulous job but they still only gave you a flat rectangle to use for promotion in your blog posts and on your website.
But why not take potential readers to a place where they can imagine reading your book?
Would you rather promote this?
Or THIS!
Literally everyone would rather be at the beach or eating bonbons while reading your book.
Would you rather promote this……
Or THIS!
Let your potential readers imagine themselves in places where they’d love to pull up a chair, grab a mug of hot bevvie, and get comfy with YOUR BOOK, not just a rectangle.
Do you have a creative mockup for your book?
If you answered no, that’s okay because I do. I have THOUSANDS of templates for them. All I require to make this magic happen is your flat rectangle.
Whether you want a spring, summer, fall, or winter vibe. Or a mystery, sci-fi, romance, or adventure theme (the list goes on and on….and on).
I can put your book into exactly the right scene that’ll make people FEEL something when they land on it.
Because NOBODY is shopping for rectangles!
They’re buying into your journey.
Or, if you prefer boring Substack buttons:
Outstanding visuals. I’ll remember this one. Very well done!! Thank you Kristi!
Kristi! Your post has inspired me. Watch out for a post in a week or so about my latest article in Flowers Magazine Australia. OK it’s not a book, but
my article. I’ll zhoosh up the image with some flowers, a cuppa and some snips…hmmm, will think more about making it look more enticing to read.
Thank you for the Inspo!!! C
