Thank you! I knew there was a way to control what sections, AND, couldn't figure it out!

This is rather helpful.

I think I might even use it!

I'll choose to simply make a hyperlink.

Maybe with my own graphic.

Thanks! 👌

You're welcome!! You can even use a Substack custom button from the button dropdown in your post draft.

Not confusing at all! It’s great !

I was in heaven when I figured out I could stop the duplication of receiving emails in my personal email account and in my inbox on the site. I think it might appear to some that I unsubscribed from them, but I only turned off the notifications in my email. I don’t need all those duplicates!

Good advice! Now my current dilemma is how to end a paid subscription…when people don’t warn you that it’s up for renewal for another year. I’ve switched most subscriptions to a monthly plan so I can gracefully ease out, if I meed to. I don’t want the writer to get dinged for a big refund, plus a fee from Substack. Any wisdom for me — in a future post?

First, it's weird you're not being notified before the renewal occurs. Substack does that automatically 🤔

As for unsubscribing, let me answer you later today. I'm just sipping my first coffee and not in "help" mode yet 😁

Thanks for that research. I’ve seen authors say they get charged a fee when people cancel, in addition to paying the refund. I don’t want the author to suffer.

What???? I have never heard that! I wonder if its a Stripe processing fee. I have no clue!

No rush. It could be a whole separate column. No hurry.

Mary, I was able to get this from the chatbot:

To unsubscribe from a paid annual subscription while maintaining free access, the subscriber needs to: 1) Log into their Substack account and go to Settings, 2) Click on the publication they want to change, 3) Scroll to Account actions and click "To cancel your paid subscription, click here" - they'll keep their free subscriber benefits until the end of their billing cycle.

And here's a link to the full support doc: https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/9816830938516-How-do-I-unsubscribe-from-a-publication-on-the-Android-app

Roughly halfway down that page explains it.

Great advice here Kristi and thanks for including my recent email to my subscribers. Gee - I haven’t been called a ‘Pro’ on Substack before! ( And just yesterday I became #38 Rising in Fiction) One step at a time and it all works.

I like knowing about the /account url trick.

Your email was great timing because I had just drafted this one.

And YAAY about your new rank in fiction!! That means they're paying attention and it's working! Congrats 👏
