If You Offer a Paid Subscription, You Should Definitely Be Using These
Don't miss out on this organic opportunity to convert your free subscribers.
Looking for an UN-salesy way to convert your free subscribers?
Nobody likes constantly begging asking readers to upgrade to a paid subscription, am I right? We do it because it feels like it’s the only way to put the word on the street.
But did you know you can get others to do the heavy lifting for you without even asking?
Who said social proof is just a social media thing?
Substack has a pretty fantastic feature built right in for EVERYONE who has paid subscriptions turned on. All you have to do is use it!
They’re called Paid Subscriber Notes and these provocative little nuggets are located in your Dashboard under Stats » Paid Subscriber Notes.
When readers upgrade to paid they’re prompted to leave a nice note about why they chose to pay you. If any of them have left a note these will all appear under your stats tab (as shown above).
If you click that grey Share button I’ve circled in red, you will receive a prompt that allows you to download each note. When you do, you’ll get a beautifully formatted testimonial you can use anywhere.
It’ll look like this:
Pretty sweet, huh?
Of course, these paid subscriber notes are great for social media, BUT another high-value spot to use them is on your About page and/or your Welcome post. If you go check my About page you’ll see that I’ve dropped a few of them in there for good measure.
To drive home how impactful these testimonials can be, here are some actual Social Proof statistics:
92% of consumers feel hesitant to buy when there are no customer reviews available.
66% of consumers say positive user reviews are most important when making purchase decisions.
35% of consumers say they’re less likely to buy when there are no customer reviews available.
There you have it! Make sure to check that tab in your dashboard each time you acquire a new paid subscriber because if they left you a note…you should be clout-bombing it all over the internet!
You know what they say…use it or lose it!
Since Christmas is near, here is a FREE GIFT to anyone who’s thinking about jumping into coaching with both feet in the new year!
This is a revelation Kristi, I just clicked on that tab and discovered a bunch of notes I didn't know I had! Thanks for the tip 😀
Thank you for your endlessly helpful nuggets!
