Great idea, sadly I can't make it. But on the topic of growth... I now find it literally impossible to upload email lists to Substack, every single one being declined even with the agreement and GDPR regs met. My platform's growth is being hampered. I'm bringing new readers. I get in the charts, they know I'm not a bot, I've been here for years. Now having to add lengthy lists one by one... sigh... daren't do more than a few at a time in case they too are declined. No help desk, no response despite being told it will be 72 hours, repeatedly. If this is discussed at all, I'd love to know if anyone else is having similar issues. I write romance to smut, and markets are ever shrinking. Is it stealth censorship?
Daizy, I can relate to this SO much!! I actually wrote a post about this a couple of months ago because a similar thing happened to me. I didn't get much resolution either. I lost approximately 1000 subscribers in the transition.

I thought you had written elsewhere that you were surprised when Google Analytics showed certain nouns (was it cockroaches? something similar?) you mentioned in a post were picked up by Google and drew in a lot of readers. I’d be interested to know how you were able to deduce that, but maybe I misunderstood, and it wasn’t Google Analytics.
With analytics, you can opt into monthly summary emails that show you which search terms people used that landed them on your site. What you can learn from that is exactly what people are looking for so you can hopefully write more of that.

Unfortunately, I will be at the FIS Cross Country World Cup Finals in Lake Placid, New York where at 2 PM on Saturday EST, I will be watching the skiers from all over the world sprint their hearts out on slushy snow.
With that said, I check out your website and yes, I never knew you had one. I am building my own companion website now and concerned about how to generate cross-traffic.
Second, I do not think a lot of Substack readers do not know we have a Substack website. Most people just read our posts and move on. I do hink there are expert Substack users who do look at Substack websites but not most Substack readers.

About readers not knowing our businesses, even without a companion website, I do have a work with me page on Substack AND I insert links in all my posts. For the most part, I feel like people just want the free tips and are unwilling to pay for expertise. This was evident in the survey responses I received. It was very informative.
