Thanks, yes, I realise you already answered that question. As for those who thanked me or commented more personally, I will contact these in turn and ask permission. Thanks for guidance :-)
Oh I love this idea. I have written poetry for a decade on my blog and have now published a book. Those same people that have commented on my poetry on my blog - would it be okay to use their lovely comments on my website for my book do you think? I never thought of this
I’ve just sent a few emails out to particularly supportive long time readers of mine on my blog and asked (with a lot of bravery I might add) could they offer a few words that I could use in testimony to my poetry for my new website. Now I wait with red cheeks and bated breath. Thankyou for giving me the idea Kristi.
I’m glad you wrote this post because I don’t think it’s evident. I usually do first name, last initial and can link for proof but of course never need to
On Substack you can create a custom page called Testimonials and put them there. On a website, you can do the same (look at the links I provided in my post)
Substack makes this easier to do than some sites by actually keeping track of these comments and storing them on your page while allowing you to repurpose them for advertising, etc.
Yes they do! I've written about that before but they're actually having some tech issues right now with those nice note blocks. We can't download them right now.
Where can I find the 40-minute tutorial on sprucing up our home page? Thanks Kristi!!
Right here!! https://unstackit.substack.com/i/144956398/substack-homepage-design-video-tutorial
Thank you!!
This is inspiring, and I wonder if I need to ask someone's permission before I do that?
If their comments are posted publicly, you wouldn't have to ask. You're just moving them from one place to another on the internet.

Absolutely! Those comments are published in public so it's totally okay to use them! That's how I got my first ones decades ago 😊

You’re so welcome! Trust me, those people will be happy to do it.
Love this idea of including all (not just paid) subscriber comments. Moving this to the top of my to-do list!
This is such a simple but great idea to start collating validation and feedback. Thank you ☺️
My pleasure!
Rollin rollin rollin
I did this on my recent book!! Now I feel validated
Yesss! I've done it so much in the past and it works every time.

Great idea! Where do you put the great comments? Home page? Thanks Kristi!
